Assistant Coach - Jeff Whitfield |

Jeff Whitfield completed his first triathlon in 2003 at age 25. Before that, his sporting background was recreational running and cycling. After a few finishes in the top of his age group, he was hooked! Now he is one of the strongest male triathletes in the central Texas region, and is getting faster with each season.
After three years as a software consultant, Jeff returned to the University of Texas for a master's degree in Exercise Physiology, which he completed in May, 2007. His academic areas included sports nutrition, human performance, and preventive medicine. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, and enjoys keeping in touch with the current research in the field. When he is not coaching, training, or playing dollhouse, he is working as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with Round Rock Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation program.
As a coach, Jeff has the ability to integrate nutritional recommendations with sound training principles to form a complete performance plan. His background in exercise physiology allows him to explain the physiological purpose for every workout, with as much or as little detail as desired, while his experience in nutrition can aid athletes in anything from post race recovery to a change in body composition.
Jeff has raced all distances from sprint to Ironman, including the 2006 70.3 World Championships. You'll find him lining up at road and trail runs of all distances, and Ironman Florida in 2009!

Assistant Coach - Louie Riesch |

Louie's triathlon career began in 2002 in Houston, but his athletic career started at a very early age with little dribblers basketball, t-ball, and flag football. His first true love with sport was definitely basketball, and once Louie realized that he wasn’t going to be the next Michael Jordan he hung up his basketball shoes during his freshman year of college.
After college Louie needed an athletic outlet and started running, which eventually steared his way into triathlon. He has raced all distances, from sprint to Ironman, with multiple age group podium finishes and overall top performances. The 70.3 distance is his favorite, and running remains his strongest of the three disciplines.
Louie has been involved in health and fitness professionally since college graduation. While working on his masters degree in Public Health he worked at a wellness center managing fitness programs. Most recently he has completed a masters degree in nursing and is now currently working as a diabetic educator, counseling people on the benefits of exercise.
